One of the “Genealogy” group members, representing Armenia at the Eurovision is Inga Arshakyan.
Attaching a particular importance to the idea of peace, unity and tolerance, the creative team of the Public Television of Armenia decided to gather the representatives of the new generation of Armenians scattered across the five continents as a result of the genocide of 1915 (Europe, Asia, Americas, Africa, Australia). Except Inga Arshakyan “Genealogy” will be represented by Essaï Altounian (France), Tamar Kaprelian (USA), Vahe Tilbian (Ethiopia), Stephanie Topalian (Japan), Mary-Jean O’Doherty Vasmatzian (Australia). Six artists, six destinies, one story.
At the Eurovision the group will perform “Face The Shadow” song (lyrics by Inna Mkrtchyan, music by Armen Martirosyan, song video director Aren Bayadyan. The song is about universal values, it’s about happiness, which can be found only in peace, unity and harmony.
The official premiere of “Face The Shadow” song video took place on March 12. This year Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted in Vienna under the slogan “Building Bridges”. The semi-finals of the competition are scheduled for May 19 and 21, while the final show will be held on May 23.
Inga graduated from the violin department at Arno Babajanyan Music College in Yerevan. Along with the studies she worked in the State Violin Ensemble. She is also the alumna of the Komitas State Conservatory where she studied at the jazz-vocal department.
